Bob Costas of NBC Sports delivered the inaugural Gidel/Lombardo Lecture in Sports Communication. The Gidel/Lombardo Lecture series was made possible by a gift from the Gidel and Lombardo families  in honor of Rob Gidel Jr.'s graduation from the University of Kentucky journalism program.  Rob was active in sports journalism during his time at UK and worked in several sports broadcasting jobs after graduation.
